Welcome

Growney Brothers Rodeo started in the 70’s with a life-long dream and practice stock bought by rough stock competitor John Growney during his college days.  In 1979, Growney purchase Rodeo Stock Contractor’s rodeo company from Bob Cook. Thus, was born Growney Brothers Rodeo Company. The rodeo company became exclusively professional in 1980 after only one year in the amateur ranks. Throughout the 90’s Growney Brothers evolved into one of the best rodeo company’s not only on the West Coast but in the nation. In 2000, Growney Brothers Rodeo was named the Stock Contractor of the Year by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association (PRCA). Growing to produce some of the biggest professional rodeos, Tim Bridwell was added as a partner in 2005, managing the bucking horse program.  Growney and Bridwell won the 2008 PRCA Remuda Award, an annual award given by the PRCA honoring the stock contractor with the best all-around bucking horse herd.  Individually Growney served on the PRCA’s stock contractor executive council from 2008-10 and together the firm went on to be again nominated for Stock Contractor of the Year in 2009 and 2010. In 2015, 9 animals were selected to the coveted Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR), bareback horse #960 Beaver Fever won 5 th  for best bareback horse and the firm’s bull Crystal Deal was crowned the PRCA’s Bucking Bull of the Year. 2016 proved as successful as 2015, when 9 more animals were petitioned to appear at the WNFR. Saddle Bronc Horse #902 Capone bested the field in 2016 as one of the top broncs and bareback #960 Beaver Fever returned for her 11th trip to the WNFR. Between the partners are two ranches in the Red Bluff, CA area with over 2500 acres of owned and leased land which houses annually 50 bucking bulls, 200 bucking horses and 400 calves and steers. In 2017, Growney Brothers marks another milestone in its’ storied legacy with the transition of Bridwell and his wife, Haley, taking over the reins of the company. John will continue to be a valued member of the company as he will be able to concentrate more on public relations and enjoy semi- retirement. While the quality of livestock, precision of production and heartfelt attention to all aspects of the rodeo business hasn’t changed, the name has grown.  Growney Brothers and Bridwell Pro Rodeo will now carry on the tradition that has been so richly embedded in rodeo history! Our future has never been brighter thanks to those who have paved the way with their desire, hard work and dedication to Growney Brothers Rodeo Company. "We are only as good as the product we serve to our ticket buyers. Growney Brothers Rodeo consistently delivers above and behond expectations every performance. It's always a pleasure to work with the Growney Brother's Crew. "Wayne Brooks - Pro Rodeo Announcer of the Year
